Our commitment to our customer is as pure as the pearls we are selling. We are purchasing from Pearl Farmers in French Polynesia Tahitian Black Pearls. The newly created Tahitian Pearl Department will inspect and give a stamp of approval and pearl classification for all pearls that are in our customs export declaration. All pearls approved for exporting will have a seal affixed to the shipment by the Tahitian Pearl Department. All of the Tahitian Black Pearl jewelry purchased from Tahiti-Iti Imports will be accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity.

 According to the experts, the Tahitian Black Pearl is the most beautiful of all pearls. Despite its name, the Tahitian Black pearl is rarely black. The Tahitian pearl develops its perfect shapes and colors in the deep turquoise waters of remote Polynesian lagoons. The atolls that produce the most beautiful pearls are the Tuamotu and Gambier. This is where the pearls we offer will come from. The amazing palette of colors runs from white to lunar gray, with graduation of the most astonishing tones: blue, pink, gold, purple and peacock green. The Polynesians call their pearls Poe Rava, which means “black with green reflections”.

Tahitian Black Pearls are just like women and some have beauty marks, each pearl is unique to itself and there is noother exactly the same.When making earrings time must be taken to find a pair that are the absolute closest match. 

SIZE
Pearls are most commonly expressed in millimeters. Tahitian pearls generally Range in size from 8mm to 16mm.

SHAPE
There are four basic shapes that Tahitian pearls come in:

Round and semi round
Semi-Baroque..this to include 
     drop, button and oval shapes
Baroque
Circled or ringed

Tahitian Black Pearls are defined by four basic qualities: A, B, C, D

Quality A
An “A Quality “ pearl is one that has no surface flaws or very slight flaws that are visible to the naked eye and confined to less than 10 percent of its surface. All “A Quality” pearls exhibit a high luster.
Quality C
A “C Quality“ pearl is one that exhibits several visible flaws, distributed over more than one third of the surface and exhibits a medium quality luster.
Quality B
A “B Quality” pearl is one that exhibits high or medium luster with some flaws  visible to the naked eye and distributed over less than one third of the surface.
Quality D
A “D Quality” pearl is one that exhibits a large amount of visible flaws over  more than two thirds of the surface, regardless of luster.


Luster is evaluated according to reflection of light on the pearl’s surface. The brighter the reflection, the higher the luster.


Generally, rounder pearls which exhibit a high luster with few flaws will still command the most premium prices. In addition, special Pearl colors such as peacock, aubergine and pistachio will carry a premium price because of their rarity.
